TASIS trio locks year plan in Nyala after ‘Sincere Declaration’

The head of the presidential council Mohamed Hamdan “Hemedti” Dagalo, his deputy Abdelaziz al-Hilu, and Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan al-Ta’aishi met to lock in TASIS’s work plan and priorities for the coming year, with al-Ta’aishi saying the three agreed to “act as one team” under the Sudan Founding Alliance’s vision.

The planning session came on the heels of oath-taking ceremonies in Nyala: Dagalo was sworn in as council chief on Aug. 30, followed by al-Ta’aishi’s swearing-in as prime minister on Sept. 1 as TASIS shifted from announcement to day-to-day governance.

TASIS leaders have framed their immediate agenda around security, rights and services within a unity-focused transitional program. Early moves include diplomatic appointments, such as naming a representative to the United Nations, while council meetings in Nyala continue to translate the political vision into sector files.

On the street, the government’s “Sincere Declaration” drew a large turnout in Beyam-Kumbr, Heiban County (South Kordofan/Nuba Mountains), where traditional music and community delegations marked public support. Local officials, including the county commissioner, praised the step and cast the gathering as a signal to regional and international bodies of backing for TASIS.

The Nyala meetings formalize a leadership arrangement announced over recent weeks, with Dagalo as president of the council, al-Hilu as deputy and al-Ta’aishi as prime minister, as TASIS positions itself as a peace-and-unity government.
