Sudan’s Dagalo vows to stand against Burhan’s army

In a newly released audio statement, Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti,” vowed to continue fighting. He said that the war against the General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army would persist until political and military objectives are fulfilled, portraying the struggle as a fight for national transformation.

The RSF leader claimed his forces rely on captured SAF equipment, saying their tanks, artillery, and aircraft were seized during combat, not acquired through external support.

He rejected claims of excessive force, framing the battle as one against remnants of the former regime allegedly controlling decisions within the military hierarchy. Dagalo blamed Burhan for igniting the war and perpetuating division within the country.

He argued that Sudan’s conflict extends beyond the battlefield, describing it as a political and defensive struggle to dismantle old power structures and achieve democratic transformation.
