Fighting has broken out in Sudan’s Blue Nile region between the army led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces.
Clashes were reported in the towns of Malkin and Al-Silak in Baw locality, according to local sources.
The sources said RSF and the SPLM-N advanced on several positions west of the state capital, Damazin.
Witnesses said the RSF moved into parts of Baw and Malakan, later publishing videos claiming control of buildings and a military base.
A military source loyal to al-Burhan said army troops had repelled the attack, though this could not be independently verified.
The violence forced many residents to flee with only essential belongings.
People escaped to forests, nearby villages, and areas they believed were safer.
Displaced families said they are facing acute shortages of food, drinking water, and medical services.
