The Sudan Founding Alliance issued a statement condemning what it described as the “terrorist practices of the Iranian regime,” saying that confronting regional and international terrorism is a top priority to protect the peoples of the region and secure their future.
The alliance said Sudan had suffered for decades from what it termed “political terrorism alliances,” alleging that Iran played a direct role in supporting and empowering the Muslim Brotherhood during the rule of the former Islamist-led government.
According to the statement, Tehran has continued to provide military and political backing to forces that it accused of fueling conflict and deepening the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The alliance also condemned what it described as Iranian interference in Sudanese affairs through networks affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps and its security and intelligence apparatus, calling such actions a violation of national sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.
It further expressed solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar over what it described as attacks targeting their sovereignty and security, rejecting those actions and labeling them a threat to regional and international peace.
The statement concluded by asserting that “terrorism, regardless of its source, has neither religion nor homeland,” and called for a unified international stance against what it described as destabilizing policies. The alliance said it would continue confronting all forms of terrorism to ensure security and stability for Sudan and the wider region.
