President Donald Trump warned Iran on Thursday against imposing tolls on ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz after reopening under ceasefire.
Iran should not be charging fees to tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said on his Truth Social account.
In a follow-up message, Trump said oil would soon flow quickly through the route, with or without Iran’s help again.
He accused Tehran of mismanaging passage through the Strait, calling its handling of oil flows operation dishonourable and poor.
He added that Iran’s actions were not consistent with the ceasefire agreement between the two sides or its terms.
Maritime tracking data showed only 10 vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz since the ceasefire took effect.
