
Former Nigeria forward Michael Eneramo, 40, has died after collapsing during a friendly match in Kaduna Nigeria on Friday morning.
The 40-year-old Eneramo reportedly suffered cardiac arrest five minutes into second half, according to early reports.
He played first half in Ungwan Yelwa Kaduna friendly on Friday morning before collapsing after restart of the game period.
“This is devastating I am short of words at this moment NFF general secretary Mohammed Sanusi said in a statement.”
He made 10 appearances for Nigeria after turning down opportunity to represent Tunisia during his career international football career later.
Nicknamed The Tank by Espérance Sportive de Tunis fans he won multiple trophies and became a club legend figure there.
Also played in Turkey for Sivasspor, Beşiktaş and Başakşehir among other clubs during his professional career across top flight stints.
Made his Nigeria debut against Jamaica in February 2009 friendly match before scoring first international goal against Ireland later three.
