Burhan denies plans for political talks involving TASIS

Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan

Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has denied reports of preparations for a political dialogue involving the Sudan Founding Alliance, known as TASIS.

In remarks attributed to him by Al-Unwan 24 and carried by Al-Mashhad Al-Sudani on Monday, Burhan dismissed media reports suggesting the alliance could participate in a proposed political process.

“There is no truth to what has circulated in the media about a dialogue that includes the so-called TASIS alliance,” he was quoted as saying.

The denial followed reports suggesting possible arrangements for talks involving the alliance. However, the report provided no details about who might organise the discussions, their proposed format or a timetable.
