
South Sudan president Salva Kiir Mayardit has called for unity among the Sudanese political leaders and urged them to find an agreeable solution to the current crisis in their country.
President Kiir made these remarks during a meeting with Sudanese political leaders in Juba on Wednesday.
Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime, stated that president Kiir reaffirmed his commitment to resolving the crisis in Sudan.
Dr. al-Hadi Idris, Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council member, expressed the desire for South Sudan to continue playing a significant role in addressing the Sudanese conflict.
Governor of the Darfur Region, Mini Arko Minawi, mentioned that political parties in Sudan have agreed to work together to find a lasting solution to the crisis.
These statements were made after Sudanese parties involved in the Juba Peace Agreement held meetings in Juba over the past two days to establish a unified position for achieving a peaceful settlement to the war in Sudan.
