
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake hit the border area between South Sudan and Uganda on late Monday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 8 kilometers (approximately 4.97 miles), as reported by the EMSC.
In September 2016, a significant earthquake registering a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale hit Uganda and other surrounding countries within the Lake Victoria basin region.
