The second-in-command of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Abdel Rahim Dagalo, has declared the group’s willingness to collaborate with investigative committees probing the atrocities in Darfur that occurred during the clashes with the Sudanese army.
In a video message delivered via X on Tuesday, Dagalo stressed the RSF’s dedication to holding those accountable who infringe upon the rights of others and jeopardize their safety.
Dagalo reaffirmed that the RSF would not shield individuals involved in illegal activities and would confront them decisively and with deterrence.
“We affirm our readiness to cooperate with any investigation committees and to bring any individual proven to be involved in any violations to a fair trial,” he said.
RSF says atrocities and violence taking place in Darfur are caused by long-standing tribal conflicts between various groups. The group staunchly denies any connection to the tribal killings taking places across the region.
