Rights group calls for justice in Guinea stadium crush

Amnesty International has urged the Guinean authorities to conduct a thorough and independent investigation into the deadly stadium crush that occurred in N’Zerekore earlier this month.

The tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of football fans, has sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability.

The incident, which unfolded during a football match organized in honor of the country’s military junta leader, was exacerbated by the use of tear gas by security forces to disperse a crowd that had invaded the pitch.

The ensuing stampede led to the tragic loss of life.

Amnesty International has expressed concern over the government’s handling of the situation, particularly the restrictions on internet access and the attempts to downplay the scale of the tragedy.

The organization has called for transparency and accountability in the investigation process.

The international community is closely monitoring the situation in Guinea and urging the authorities to uphold human rights and ensure justice for the victims of this tragic event.
