
Four people were killed and three others injured in a minibus taxi rank shooting in South Africa’s legislative capital, Cape Town, on Friday.
The incident occurred around 6:00 am at the old taxi rank in Mfuleni, approximately 30 kilometers east of the city center.
Western Cape provincial police spokesperson Novela Potelwa confirmed the details, stating that one of the injured victims is believed to be a commuter.
Police have since bolstered their deployment in the area as investigations into the shooting are underway.
Potelwa also announced a reward of 100,000 South African rands (over $5,000) for information leading to arrests, assuring that all details would be handled with care and whistleblower identities protected.
The incident is believed to be related to ongoing taxi conflicts in the region.
