A medical source reported that at least 15 civilians lost their lives on Saturday as a result of shelling that struck their homes in Khartoum.
The deceased individuals were transported to Al-Nau hospital in Omdurman, a suburb of greater Khartoum, according to an anonymous medical source who spoke to media.
The conflict, ongoing since April, between the troops under the command of army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, who leads the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has unfolded in densely populated regions, resulting in the complete destruction of entire neighborhoods.
Over the course of nearly seven months of conflict, a conservative estimate from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project indicates that more than 10,400 individuals have lost their lives.
The United Nations reports that the violence has compelled 5.8 million individuals to become internally displaced or seek refuge outside of Sudan.
Delegates from both factions are presently present in the Saudi city of Jeddah for negotiations facilitated by Saudi Arabia and the United States. Nevertheless, the conflict in Sudan continues unabated
