Leaders meet in Algiers for sustainable future

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group launched its 51st annual meeting on Monday in Algeria’s capital, Algiers.

The four-day event gathers leaders from 57 member countries to advance sustainable development and foster regional cooperation.

Held at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center, the summit’s theme is “Diversifying Economies, Enriching Lives.”

It offers a strategic platform for knowledge exchange and high-level dialogue among policymakers, development partners, and private sector figures.

Key discussions focus on digital tools to empower enterprises, Islamic finance, the halal economy, and socioeconomic growth efforts.

Several side events run parallel to the meeting, including the 13th Youth Development Forum and the Global Forum on Islamic Finance.

The General Assembly of the Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries also convenes during the conference.

The IsDB highlighted the event as marking the 50th session of its Board of Governors’ Meeting, a major milestone for the institution.

This milestone underscores the bank’s commitment to Islamic finance, innovation, and sustainable development.

Last year’s golden jubilee meeting was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, reinforcing the IsDB’s global reach and mission.

As the IsDB continues to unite diverse nations, the annual gathering remains vital in shaping inclusive economic progress.

The Algerian meeting aims to deepen partnerships and explore new opportunities to enrich lives across member states.

With vibrant discussions and a shared vision, the event sets the stage for future development and cooperation initiatives.
