Morocco upgrades airport with $178M for increased capacity

Morocco announced a significant investment to boost tourism by expanding the Marrakech Menara Airport.

According to state-run television 2M, the project will see an injection of 1.78 billion dirhams (approximately $176.15 million).

This expansion aims to more than double the airport’s passenger handling capacity.

Upon completion, Marrakech Menara is expected to accommodate over 11.5 million passengers annually, a substantial increase from its current capacity.

The project signifies Morocco’s commitment to strengthening its tourism industry, with Marrakech being a major tourist destination.

The additional capacity will likely cater to growing travel demand and enhance connectivity to the vibrant city.
