Morocco, Yemen sign agreements on education, infrastructure

Morocco and Yemen have inked seven agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including in education, infrastructure, and meteorology.

The agreements were signed during the sixth session of the Joint Committee between the two countries, held in Rabat on Friday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Yemeni counterpart, Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani.

The agreements include a deal for mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, an executive agreement on vocational training, and a program for cooperation in higher education and scientific research for 2025-2027.

Memorandums of understanding were also signed covering cooperation in water resources management, technical collaboration in road and port infrastructure, enhanced activities in meteorology and climate science, and vocational training.

Following the session, Bourita reaffirmed Morocco’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council as Yemen’s legitimate authority.

He emphasized the need for a lasting political solution to the Yemeni crisis that safeguards the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
