Russia has lifted its gasoline export ban for major producers but extended restrictions for independent traders and resellers until Jan. 31, 2025. Exemptions remain for exports to the Eurasian Economic Union and nations with fuel agreements, like Mongolia.
The move aims to stabilize the domestic fuel market, support refineries, and curb unauthorized exports. Key producers include Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, and Rosneft.
In 2023, Russia produced 43.9 million tons of gasoline, exporting 13% primarily to African nations, including Nigeria, Libya, and Tunisia.
