A Sudanese man was executed in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after being convicted of attempting to smuggle cocaine into the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that Jibril Adam Muhammad Adam’s death sentence became final following appeals and Supreme Court confirmation.
Two Afghan nationals, Abdulbari Muhammad Sadiq and Jan Kal Mutma’in, were also executed for smuggling methamphetamine into Saudi Arabia, authorities said.
All three convictions followed separate cases investigated by security forces, resulting in indictments, court trials, and death sentences.
Royal decrees were issued to carry out the sentences in accordance with Islamic law, the Ministry confirmed.
Officials emphasised that these executions reflect the Kingdom’s zero-tolerance stance on drug trafficking and strict enforcement of anti-narcotics laws.
Authorities described the measures as part of ongoing campaigns to combat illegal drugs and maintain public security.
Observers note that Saudi Arabia applies capital punishment in serious drug trafficking cases, underscoring the Kingdom’s firm legal policies.
