Two Israeli hostages dead, eight injured by IDF strikes, says Hamas

In the last 96 hours, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the death of two Israeli hostages and the serious injury of eight others, according to a statement from Hamas’ armed-wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, released on Sunday through the group’s Telegram channel.

The statement emphasizes the deteriorating conditions of the injured due to the challenges in providing appropriate treatment. Hamas attributes full responsibility to Israel for the lives of the injured amid ongoing bombings.

Hamas killed 1,200 people and abducted at least 250 during an incursion on October 7.

In response, Israel launched a military assault on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the reported death of over 28,000 Palestinians, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.

Israel’s Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari announced on Tuesday that 31 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza were confirmed dead, with a total of 136 hostages still believed to be held.

In related news, the Palestinian Prisoners Club stated on Sunday that the number of Palestinians arrested since October 7 has reached 6,950 individuals.
