Armed attack injures Sudanese refugees in Ethiopia camp

Several Sudanese refugees were injured in an armed attack on Afteit camp in Ethiopia’s Amhara region late Tuesday, camp sources said.

Gunmen opened fire before fleeing, while the wounded were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Refugees say the camp suffers from poor security, with repeated attacks exposing civilians to ongoing risk.

Witnesses reported homes were stormed, families assaulted, and belongings looted during the raid.

Officials say camp security is the responsibility of local authorities, but refugees say violence continues despite repeated assurances.
