Burhan’s army looted Sudanese tribes extensively: SFA

The Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) said on Wednesday that serious violations took place in Um Rawaba, east of El Obeid, on Tuesday.

In a statement, the group accused General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army and allied militia linked to the Muslim Brotherhood of committing abuses against civilians in the area.

TASIS said members of the Shanabla tribe were among those affected, including families, women and children.

It also reported the looting of more than 350 camels during the incident in Um Rawaba.

The alliance said accusations of affiliation with the Rapid Support Forces were used to justify the actions, warning that such narratives are fuelling further division between communities.

It added that this kind of rhetoric risks deepening tribal tensions and spreading hatred across Sudanese society.

TASIS described the incidents as serious violations of international humanitarian law, saying they fall under protections for civilians during conflict.

The group also stressed that the alleged crimes would not be forgotten and that accountability would be pursued over time.

While reserving the right to respond, TASIS called for national unity and urged a rejection of ethnic and tribal divisions across Sudan.
