Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) said on Friday that General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army air strike killed over 60 civilians and left hundreds wounded in North Darfur.
According to the RSF, the attack targeted a displacement camp in Al-Kuma, demolishing Al-Farouq Primary School, which had been sheltering 35 displaced families.
The air strike reportedly involved more than seven missiles and bombs, intensifying the tragedy.
The devastating assault has sparked global concern, with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasizing the urgent need to halt hostilities in Sudan.
In a call with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Blinken reiterated support for forming a civilian government in Sudan.
The State Department highlighted that Blinken also stressed the importance of expanding humanitarian aid to Sudan.
He commended the UAE for its ongoing assistance to Gaza and Lebanon, acknowledging the critical need for sustained humanitarian support in the region.
As violence escalates, international leaders are urging immediate intervention to address Sudan’s growing humanitarian crisis.
