More than 1,000 civilians have been killed in drone strikes across Sudan since January, according to the United Nations.
The UN says the growing use of drones by rival forces has marked a dangerous new phase in Sudan’s four-year conflict, with drone attacks accounting for around 80 percent of documented conflict-related civilian deaths this year.
Many strikes have hit civilian sites, including markets and hospitals, while also damaging critical infrastructure.
The violence has worsened Sudan’s humanitarian crisis, which affects nearly 34 million people, and has further complicated aid delivery efforts.
