RSF adviser: Aid reaching El Fasher, siege targets SAF only

A senior adviser to Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo said humanitarian aid continues to reach El Fasher and areas sheltering civilians, rejecting accusations that the city is under blockade.

Ibrahim Mukheir, a member of Hemedti’s advisory council, told Al-Rakoba that supplies “are arriving regularly to El Fasher and to locations where civilians fleeing the fighting have taken refuge,” adding that any siege “is directed only at soldiers loyal to [army chief Abdel Fattah] al-Burhan.”

He said RSF deputy commander Abdelrahim Dagalo has personally overseen the provision of water, food and medical care for displaced people, and that strict orders are in place to treat civilians well and to offer remaining government troops the chance to surrender under military law.

Mukheir added that the Founding Alliance (Tasis) is securing humanitarian corridors in El Fasher. He described the alliance as comprising national leaders from diverse communities, including some who oppose the RSF militarily, and said its conduct “has not faced any international criticism so far.” Reports that civilians are being besieged, he said, are “malicious propaganda.”

He blamed Finance Minister Jibril Ibrahim and Darfur regional governor Minni Arko Minnawi for a “wrong political decision and political greed” that he said helped trigger the latest escalation in El Fasher, asserting that the RSF had intended not to enter the city “as long as the armed movements remained neutral.”

El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, has been the focus of intensified fighting as RSF and allied forces seek to consolidate control in the region while General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) and allied groups fight to retain their positions. Humanitarian agencies have warned repeatedly about the risks to civilians amid shifting front lines.
