Israel strikes Lebanon hours after agreeing not to

Israel struck southern Lebanon on Saturday, a day after a US-brokered security arrangement aimed at easing border tensions.

Lebanon’s state news agency said an Israeli drone struck Nabatieh al-Fawqa, outside a security zone on an Israeli map.

Israeli military told Reuters it carried out the drone strike, targeting an individual it said threatened its forces.

The incident underscores fragile calm despite the newly signed US-brokered arrangement along the Lebanon-Israel border.
