Marco Rubio met Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos on Monday in Washington, State Department said.
Rubio emphasized Ethiopia’s role in reducing tensions and supporting conflict resolution efforts across East Africa during discussions in Washington meetings.
The two sides discussed security cooperation between Washington and Addis Ababa and efforts to advance conflict resolution initiatives during talks.
They also discussed expanding commercial and economic ties between the United States and Ethiopia in broader cooperation framework during meeting.
State Department statement noted Secretary and Foreign Minister also discussed US-Ethiopia security partnership and steps to advance commercial opportunities.
