Sudanese politician Babiker Faisal said his 20-hour detention at Cairo International Airport was unrelated to claims that he had visited Israel.
Faisal dismissed an Africa Intelligence report alleging an Israel trip as false, saying he entered Egypt from Kenya on May 25 and stayed until August 3.
He said the report aimed to portray civilian groups as foreign collaborators.
Faisal said Sudan’s former Salvation regime began ties with Israel during the December Revolution and warned that the prolonged war has made peace increasingly dependent on external powers.
He criticised competing dialogue initiatives, saying fragmented efforts delay a solution as Sudan enters its fourth year of war and faces a severe humanitarian crisis.
Faisal said civilian forces remain independent of both sides and opposed to the war. He also rejected any post-war political role for the National Congress Party or Islamic Movement.
