Drone attacks targeting Port Sudan resumed early Thursday, marking the twelfth consecutive day of strikes on the city, with similar attacks also reported in Kassala.
Osman Tahir, a union leader at the seaports, told Radio Dabanga that while port operations continue despite the attacks, activity has notably declined compared to the period before the drone strikes began. He explained that port activity had already been impacted since the outbreak of war two years ago.
Despite these gains, the recent drone attacks have once again disrupted operations. Tahir warned that the continued strikes would drive up shipping and insurance costs for vessels heading to Port Sudan, ultimately leading to higher prices for imported goods.
