The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have accused General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) of bombing a crowded market in North Darfur, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the RSF said that on Monday evening, the SAF’s air force, described as “ISIS-affiliated” by the RSF, bombed the market in the “Tora” area of North Darfur.
The attack killed and wounded hundreds, including women and children, in what the RSF called “barbaric scenes.”
The RSF condemned the attack, labeling it as an “terrorist assault on innocent civilians” and criticized the international community for its silence in the face of escalating massacres carried out by “new ISIS factions” against Sudanese people.
Since April 2023, the SAF and RSF have been engaged in a brutal conflict that has left over 20,000 dead and displaced more than 14 million, according to the United Nations and local authorities.
