The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) condemned General al-Burhan’s forces (SAF) and its allied militias for a brutal attack that resulted in the slaughter of dozens of civilians in Al-Khawi, a town in West Kordofan. The RSF called the attack an act of “racial genocide,” accusing SAF of deliberately targeting innocent civilians.
In a media statement, the RSF described the atrocities as systematic and planned, revealing evidence, including testimonies and video clips, that showed the crimes were carried out in coordination with the SAF command. According to the RSF, the assault involved mercenary militias and terrorist brigades aligned with Sudan’s military junta, led by Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
The victims were reportedly subjected to extreme violence, including torture, beheadings, and mutilation of their bodies. The RSF characterized the actions as an attempt to terrorize and subjugate local populations on ethnic and political grounds.
“The Joint Force’s actions are a direct assault on human dignity and constitute a campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide,” the RSF said in their statement. They called for international condemnation and urged human rights organizations and the media to document and expose these crimes.
The RSF holds the SAF and its militias fully accountable for the massacre, further accusing the Sudanese military of perpetrating widespread human rights abuses across Sudan’s western regions.
